How Does Prune Mui Sound?

I was given a wonderful box of dried fruit from my friend Adam for the holidays. I did not take a before picture because I was too excited to make prune mui.
This batch of dried fruits include prunes, apricots, cherries, pears, and I exercised my creative license and threw in persimmons and pineapple. I found a recipe on Honolulu Weekly and used a little more of the whiskey than it called for. Yipeee.
Ono yeah!

Happy New Year

I've been in hibernation and very introspective these past few months. Well, it's 2009 and I am excited to be alive.

Along with the strong sense of living are my odd cravings. Well tonight's supper was chicken livers and I wanted to dress it up so I seasoned them, pan-fried the livers then added chopped water chestnuts and diced garlic. I pan-fried a jalapeno pepper for more kick and garnish. It was wonderful over rice. Here's a pic.

Last nights supper was pan-fried Brussels sprouts with roasted almonds, yum.

By the way if you happen to be a vampire fan, I highly recommend the Charlaine Harris vampire novels. I am on book four of the Sookie Stackhouse series.
